I finally did it. I ordered myself a real monitor. Specifically, this BenQ 27" joint.
I bought my MacBook Air back in 2021, trading in my 27" iMac (the final Intel version) to pay for the majority of the cost. I barely paid over $200 for the laptop. Not bad, really. The reason I went with the laptop was versatility, primarily because my cat was always sleeping in my desk chair. I guess he liked the way it kind of cuffed him, but it kept me from using my computer as much as I would have liked to. The laptop allowed me to pick the computer up and move it to the couch or wherever I wanted to work.
Since then, I’ve kept the MacBook on a laptop stand, which props it up closer to eye level when I’m at my desk. It also keeps my current orange cat from trampling all across my keyboard. This solution has worked, but it’s always felt just a little cheap for me. It also takes away some of the depth of my desk, making it feel just a little bit smaller than it really is.
So, I bought myself a monitor just literal minutes ago, and I should have it by the time I’m home from work tomorrow. It’s probably bigger than I need, but I’m not going to complain about extra screen real estate. 27" was the smallest I could buy for this level of value, screen resolution, and versatility. Not only will I be able to hook my MacBook up to it, I’ll also be able to hook my gaming systems up to it as well, while giving me a much more dedicated and comfortable environment to play than my couch.
All of this has sent me a little bit of a cleaning spree, as I’m getting rid of some trash that’s been on a neighboring bookshelf that’s sat there for months. I also rewired everything, tucking as many cords away as possible. This all ties into me bettering my home environment, since I’m usually at home anyway. I’m looking forward to something new.

I got myself a new band for my Apple Watch Ultra. It’s the Stratos band from Nomad Goods. It’s a combination of titanium and their sport band material, which makes it very comfortable. I sometimes forget I’m wearing the watch at all.

This is my weekly list of songs that either caught my attention or came to mind this past week. I post these throughout the week on a site called Crucial Tracks, where they’re also added to a playlist on Apple Music. Feel free to follow me on either space.
