The Mill (Midtown)
This is a freaking cool space!
For context, The Mill got its beginnings in Lincoln, NE. I grew up going to their locations in downtown and College View. The College View location used to have this amazing bakery across the street from it, making it a nice little one-two combo. I always loved going there.
Anyway, when I heard they were getting an Omaha location, I was a bit enthusiastic about it. The only downside is it was closer to downtown and I live on the south end of the metro, so it’s a drive to get there.
But I finally decided I would make the trip out and actually sit down to do my writing today, and this place is a freaking vibe. The coffee is good, so standard Mill in that sense. But I also find it a great place to write. This place is large, so even with a lot of people here, it doesn’t seem too crowded. The lighting is good, with a mix of window seating and secluded spots. I’m actually tucked in a corner by the window in what’s somehow a mix of both.
Overall, I love this space. I think I’ll be coming here more often.
