Nothing - a short history of decay

This is the first album from Nothing since The Great Dismal from six years ago. They’ve released some joint efforts in the meantime, however. If you’re unfamiliar with Nothing, they’re moody to say the least. They’ve formed a sound that mixes emo shoegaze with some darker metal tones. Lead vocalist Domenic “Nicky” Palermo never stretches his voice, to the point that he almost disappears on the band’s louder tracks.

This album leans more into Nothing’s acoustic side, which projects a lot of melancholy throughout. It doesn’t roar quite as often as past releases, but shows that Nothing is still evolving.
